The primary purpose of the Mental Health Clinician II position is to assess, counsel and appropriately refer individuals with mental, emotional, or substance abuse problems. Activities may include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, patient advocacy, patient referral, prevention, and education. Develops appropriate treatment plans and programs, and in conjunction with physicians and other healthcare providers participates in overall case management responsibilities for assigned patients.
Master’s Degree in appropriate mental health discipline or Social Work (MSW) plus two (2) years post master’s experience in the behavioral health field, preferably in an outpatient medical setting, or Doctorate Degree, PhD/Psy.D. in Psychology from an APA accredited program. Computer literate with competence in Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills required. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
