TS1250: Probationary Rate: $15.44/hr.; Job Rate: $15.94/hr.; Two Year Rate:$16.42/hr.


The primary purpose of the Support Services Technician, under the direction of the EMS Operations Coordinator, is to provide various logistical support services functions relating to the procurement, delivery, tracking, and distribution of all medical-related equipment and supplies within the EMS Department. The Support Services Technician is responsible for the daily cleaning, stocking, and distribution of ambulances. The Support Services Technician provides these services in all weather conditions, in concert with other EMS employees, while completing all required documentation and other assigned duties supporting efficient EMS operations and representing UH and EMS in a positive and professional manner.



High School Diploma or equivalent required. One year (1) year of logistics experience preferred. Must have at least two (2) years of driving experience with a good driving record. CDL driver’s license with passenger endorsement is preferred. Prior experience in EMS or EMS Department is preferred. Must be able to pass a medical evaluation and a respirator fit test and wear an N95 particulate filter respirator mask in accordance with PEOSHA standards as a condition of employment. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties. Demonstrated interpersonal skills required. Exceptional customer service skills required.


Credential required: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Driver’s license with NJ driving privileges. Driver’s license must be in accordance with the DOT/MVC regulations for the type/size/weight of the vehicle(s) as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The Support Services Technician must be in excellent physical condition, able to work in all weather and environmental conditions, able to lift and move boxes, packages, and equipment in all circumstances. The Support Services Technician must be able to perform all duties consistent with supply chain logistics. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 125 lbs. occasionally.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: The Support Services Technician will, on a routine and daily basis, be required to see, hear, smell, speak, sit, walk, lift, drive, and communicate in English both verbally and in writing. In certain situations, the Support Services Technician may be required to kneel, crawl, climb or jump.
