The primary purpose of the Executive Director Perioperative Services position is to strategically develop and implement the clinical activities of the Perioperative Services unit, and to provide direction and oversight for the business operations and fiscal management of Perioperative Services. The Executive Director has the responsibility, authority and accountability for the 24-hour management, administration, and organizational development of Perioperative Services. Facilitates quality patient care and patient safety within the areas of Perioperative Services including the operating departments in University Hospital and in the Doctor's Office Center, Pre-Admissions Testing, Same Day Services, Medical Special Procedures, and post anesthesia care.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey with a BSN required. Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration required. Eight (8) years of progressively more responsible experience preferably in a university affiliated tertiary care facility, including at least four (4) years in Perioperative management required or as Director of the Operating Room in a medical center. In addition, must have the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals and possesses effective communication, organization and team building skills. Strong strategic and analytic ability required. Equivalent experience or education may be substituted for the Master’s Degree requirement.
