Senior Buyer - Construction

Under direction, the Senior Buyer takes the lead in all hospital procurements of: all architectural, engineering and construction services; equipment, services and supplies needed to support all construction projects; and assigned Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) procurements.  The Senior Buyer will generally be assigned procurements that are of a greater level of complexity and importance than those assigned to the Buyer, and therefore is expected to possess the higher-level capabilities commensurate with this responsibility.

Bachelor’s Degree plus two (2) years of experience in securing the purchasing of services and commodities, materials, equipment and supplies as necessary for this position with an emphasis on Purchasing Operations. Applicants must be familiar with Purchasing Systems (Marketplace and Banner preferred). Strong computer skills required. Applicants must be familiar with various sourcing strategies at a strategic level. Good communication skills required, and the ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
