The primary purpose of the Couse Instructor (BLS/ACLS/PALS) position is to teach American Heart Association and First Responder courses offered by the University Hospital Community Training Center, and to facilitate learning in the classroom. Works in conjunction with the BLS/ACLS/PALS coordinators and staff to ensure quality courses. Provides support to the CTC office and the Administrative Director.
BLS and ACLS provider and Instructor certifications required. PALS provider and PALS Instructor certification preferred and must be attained within the first six (6) months of employment at UH as a Course Instructor. Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Nursing or a Paramedic certification preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Paramedic required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in teaching BLS/ACLS/PALS and First Responder courses required. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to encourage educational development. Must be available evenings and weekends when BLS, ACLS, and PALS and First Responder courses are offered.
