Director Equity & Inclusion

The Director Equity and Inclusion is charged with helping to create an atmosphere where patients, employees, and the community feel welcome and valued at University Hospital. The Director is responsible for the development and the ongoing management of targeted Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives under the guidance of the Chief Strategic Integration & Health Equity Officer. Directs and manages culturally effective and inclusive healthcare and diversity programs, with associated metrics, hospital-wide and within the community. Hires, mentors and supervises staff to work as a team in support of the strategic goals for diversity, equity and inclusion which are key to UH’s mission and vision.

A Master’s Degree in Business, Administration, Public Health, Human Resources Management, or a related field required. Four (4) years of experience working with multidisciplinary/multi-departmental programs, preferably in a health care setting, required. Experience should include at least two (2) years leading/managing and implementing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives or programs.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Administration, Public Health, Human Resources Management, or a related field required. Six (6) years of progressively more responsible professional experience working with multidisciplinary/multi-departmental programs, preferably in a health care setting, required. Experience should include at least two (2) years of experience leading/managing and implementing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives or programs.

All candidates must have demonstrated knowledge of cultural differences and issues related to culturally competent care. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytic skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
