The primary purpose of the Financial Coordinator position is to provide assessment and coordination of all fiscal aspects of patients served by the Division of Transplant Surgery. Coordination will be provided throughout all clinical phases of the patient process. (i.e., Pre-Transplant, Evaluation, Wait Listing, Transplantation or Complex Hepatobiliary Surgery, Post Transplant, Prescription Coverage assessment and Procedure assessment and preauthorization.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus at least two (2) years (five (5) years preferred) of progressively more responsible experience as a financial coordinator required. Applicants lacking the degree may substitute four (4) years of direct full-time experience in financial clearance for clinical transplant patients, including extensive work with various types of payers. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential. Possess a working knowledge of local area Networks of PC databases. Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills, demonstrated ability for independent work and possess the ability to meet short deadlines. Spanish speaking preferable.
