Responsibilities

Under the guidance and direction of the Chief Operating Officer, oversees analytics, assessing the healthcare landscape (e.g., current, and emerging market trends), estimating the demand for various inpatient and outpatient services, and leading interdisciplinary program development. Responsible for the development of data sets and analyses that guide the decision process in the execution of University Hospital’s Strategic Plan. Monitors the effectiveness of the plan and its initiatives to identify and address opportunities for growth and improvement. Responsible for directing the development of the project management team, processes and work plans used in the execution of strategic projects and initiatives. Assists Senior Management Team with formulating policies, programs, and projects as assigned. Supports senior leadership in identifying strategic operations improvement opportunities that are aligned with strategic business objectives. Works closely with University Hospital and the New Jersey Medical School to develop/direct the implementation of the strategic plan and lead interdisciplinary and inter-institutional program development.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Business, Health Administration, or a related field, is required. Three (3) years of progressive experience in administration, finance, strategic planning, or project management, including relevant experience at a health care facility, university, or other non-profit entity required. Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills, analytical skills, strong influencing and negotiations skills, customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology, effective oral and written communication skills, training and presentation skills, general computer skills, Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience with how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires standing 1/3 of the time, walking 1/3 of the time, requires sitting 2/3 of the time, talk or hear 2/3 of the time. There are no special vision requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Business office environment, moderate noise; hybrid in-office/remote options will be considered.
