Under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer, monitors federal, state and local legislative/policy issues. Develops and executes the government relations activities and responses for the hospital. Handles a broad range of internal and external activities, and special projects relating to advocacy, promotion of the hospital’s legislative agenda, and education of stakeholders. Researches, drafts, and coordinates analytical responses to support University Hospital’s decision making. Develops position papers, provides coordination, and identifies critical issues to University Hospital.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Government/Political Science, Health Care Administration or a related field required; plus a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Government Relations/Lobbying, Public Policy, or a related function, preferably in a federal or state government setting. Must display excellent organizational, planning, communications, writing, and computer skills. Travel to Trenton, Washington, and other locations is required. Applicants may substitute experience as indicated for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
