Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to provide patient care (neonate to maturity) based on the identified individualized needs of assigned patients and families within the clinical nursing role. The Staff Nurse will assess, screen, evaluate, educate, and provide care management/outcome management in accordance with professional nursing standards and patient needs. The role of the Staff Nurse also includes practice/office support.

Qualifications

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN preferred. BLS (CPR) is required. Candidates lacking current BLS (CPR) Certification must obtain certification prior to start date of employment. Certification in area of Medical Surgical, OB/GYN, Diabetes, Adolescent/Pediatrics, or Operating Room Nursing preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires standing, walking 2/3 of the time, requires sitting 1/3 of the time, use of hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms, kneel, crouch, or crawl 1/3 of the time, talk or hear over 2/3 of the time. Position requires lifting up to 2/3 of the time. Position occasionally requires the ability to push wheeled carts/stretchers > 100 pounds up to 1/3 of the time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Exposure to blood-borne pathogens that requires use of personal protective equipment. Anesthetic Gases used in Dental Department. This requires special personal protective device.
