Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Staff Assistant position is to perform a wide variety of administrative and support services within the department. Assists in the planning and support of program activities. Assists in the review, analysis, and maintenance of scheduling and other assigned key processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in liberal arts, public or business administration or a related field, plus one (1) year of experience in a business office, government agency or university setting. Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis. Must be proficient in computer applications as required by the department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Computer literacy, typing, working at workstations in an office environment, ability to speak clearly, write proficiently, extensive reading, extended sitting, ability to move from unit to unit. Position requires standing and walking over 1/3 of the time. Talking, hearing & sight are essential; requires clear close & distance vision, peripheral & color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position requires lifting to 10 lbs.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is exposed to a minimum of environmental conditions; moderate noise is typical for this work environment.
