Overview

The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for maintaining and managing the item master database for University Hospital. The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for auditing and enhancing the accuracy and completeness of the item master data. This role involves accurately creating, updating, and organizing item information to ensure the availability and accuracy of data related to medical supplies, equipment, and other items used within University Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, maintains, and updates the item master database with accurate and current product information, including part numbers, descriptions, pricing, attributes, and specifications.
  • Collaborates with various departmental stakeholders, such as Materials Management, HST, Billing, Finance, and clinical staff to ensure the item master database supports efficient procurement, inventory management, and patient care processes.
  • Conducts daily data audits to identify and rectify discrepancies, errors, or duplicate records.
  • Analyzes large data sets to identify trends, opportunities for standardization, cost-saving measures, and process improvements.
  • Develops and delivers training programs and materials to educate staff on item master database usage, data integrity, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines related to item master management.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree required in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of inventory management preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend, implement, and document advance-level MS Excel Functions is required. Must demonstrate the ability to quickly, effectively, and accurately cleanse and analyze large data sets using MS Excel, SQL, Python, Alteryx and/or other data tools.
  • Direct experience with EMR/ERP integration is preferred. Ability to maintain and assist in managing project work plans.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills working in a service-oriented environment.
  • Effective written and oral communications a must.
  • Established organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
