About the Role

The Echocardiography Technologist is primarily responsible for delivering confidential, high-quality patient care by conducting non-invasive echocardiographic procedures for both inpatients and outpatients ranging from older adolescents to elderly adults. This role includes maintaining imaging equipment, coordinating necessary services, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting continuous quality improvement efforts tailored to the patient's age and developmental level. Performance is evaluated by the Chief Echo Technologist unless otherwise specified

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Performs non-invasive echocardiographic studies for inpatients and outpatients, from older adolescents to geriatric patients

  • Delivers high-quality, confidential patient care in accordance with clinical standards

  • Maintains and ensures proper functioning of echocardiography equipment

  • Coordinates necessary diagnostic services and patient flow for efficient care delivery

  • Accurately documents procedures and findings in the medical record

  • Supports continuous quality improvement initiatives, considering patient age and developmental needs

  • Performance is monitored and assessed by the Chief Echocardiography Technologist unless otherwise directed

 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound School or Echocardiography Technology program

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital setting required

  • At least one (1) year of experience in:

    • Cardiac ultrasound

    • Electrocardiography (ECG)

    • Stress echocardiography

    • Transesophageal echocardiography (T.E.E.)

  • Must hold current registration in adult echocardiography

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

The expected salary for this position is ($51.00) per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
