About the Role
The Chaplaincy Education Coordinator is responsible for supporting the design, coordination, and execution of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs in alignment with standards set by ACPE, the Spiritual Care Association (SCA), or other nationally recognized certifying bodies. Key responsibilities include developing educational curriculum, assessing students' clinical performance, and facilitating learning opportunities. The Coordinator also oversees Chaplaincy-related projects, including research, program development, and preparation of annual reports. This role works closely with leadership and various departments to support and enhance the overall training initiatives within the Chaplaincy program.
What You’ll Do
Assists in planning, organizing, and delivering Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs
Ensures all CPE programs meet the standards of ACPE, SCA, or other nationally recognized accrediting bodies
Develops and implements educational curriculum for chaplaincy training
Evaluates and provides feedback on students’ clinical work and progress
Facilitates educational opportunities to enhance student learning and spiritual care skills
Manages chaplaincy-related projects, including research, program development, and the preparation of annual reports
Collaborates with Chaplaincy Leadership and other departments to support and strengthen the overall training program
Contributes to the ongoing development and improvement of chaplaincy education initiatives
What You’ll Bring
Required:
Master’s Degree in Divinity or a related field required
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in chaplaincy education
Must be a Board Certified Chaplain in good standing with a recognized certifying body (e.g., APC, SCA)
Certification as an ACPE educator or equivalent required
Strong verbal and written communication skills essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel required
Experience working with diverse populations strongly preferred
Official endorsement for chaplaincy by a recognized religious group preferred
Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, including people with disabilities, families, professionals, community leaders, and government officials
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis
What We Offer
Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)
The expected salary range for this position is ($81,000.00- $116,589.00 )per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
