Staff Nurse Per Diem, PACU

The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Per Diem) position is to work on an as needed basis and be in accordance with professional nursing standards, skillfully administer total patient care to the adult and pediatric patient requiring recovery from an anesthetic agent. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on established standards.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or eligible for New Jersey license. Employment will be contingent upon receiving New Jersey licensure. Minimum of two (2) years Recovery Room experience within the past three (3) years. BLS required, CCRN and/or CPAN and ACLS certification preferred. BSN preferred. Ability to employ problem solving techniques and critical thinking. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and move patients with/without reasonable accommodations. Ability to organize care/activities of multiple patients. Successful completion of a Critical Care Course or CCRN Certification preferred. Phlebotomy Certification or IV Certification must be obtained prior to completion of unit based orientation. Proficiency in the English language is required. Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in basic life support (BLS).
