The primary purpose of the Director Special Projects position is to function as a change agent of the University Hospital’s Management Team by supporting the formatting and development of a patient/family centered delivery system
through leadership and management of various projects, tasks and activities that are critical elements in the system’s design and operations. The Director Special Projects is a skilled communicator and facilitator with solid people influencing skills that introduces,
implements and sustains processes and changes. She/he is skilled at interfacing with broad and diverse groups in multi-disciplinary forums and knowledgeable in Regulatory Standards, Systems/Performance Improvement, Patient Safety process design, and Project
Management techniques. Through the thorough completion and implementation of projects, clinical and financial goals are supported/achieved. She/he engenders confidence and trust and foster’s collaborative collegial relationships that generate high staff
achievement and pride. The Director Special Projects also executes special projects for the CNO of Patient Care Services as it relates to the Department’s resources and development of business planning, program development and formulation of operational policies and
procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration or a related field required. Four (4) years of relevant professional experience, including experience with hospital based practices and health management systems
required. Experience involving the review, analysis and evaluation of budgets required plus at least one (1) year of project management experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Additional related experience may be substituted for the
educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
