Overview

About the Role

The Associate General Counsel serves as a key legal advisor within a healthcare-focused in-house legal department, providing guidance on a broad range of complex legal matters. These include contract negotiations, commercial transactions and disputes, business arrangements, HIPAA privacy and security compliance, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute issues, intellectual property, and general civil law.

Responsibilities

 

What You’ll Do

  • Managing and coordinating commercial and civil litigation, regulatory matters, and contract-related issues

  • Overseeing outside counsel on various legal proceedings

  • Drafting and negotiating a wide array of agreements, including:

    • Professional and clinical service contracts

    • Purchase and performance agreements

    • Vendor and affiliation agreements

    • Leases and related business contracts

  • Assisting in the development and review of internal policies and procedures

  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and healthcare regulations

Qualifications

 

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university required

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school required

  • Must hold a license in good standing to practice law in the State of New Jersey

  • Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in general civil litigation required

  • Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts or agreements preferred

  • Strong human relations and communication skills required

  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

The expected salary range for this position is [$58,656.00- $227,380] per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
