The primary purpose of the Physician Assistant position while under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician is to assist in direct patient care, obtain and record medical data, provide counseling and patient education, and assist in those tasks delineated for physician assistants.
Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science or a related field. Graduation from a Physician Assistants Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Certification from the National Commission for Certification by Physician Assistants (NCCPA). New Jersey Licensed from the State Board of Medical Examiners-Physician Advisory committee. Prior experience in clinical medicine is preferred. All requirements must be met prior to employment with the University Hospital. BLS, ACLS and ATLS required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires sitting, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reaching with your hands and arms two-thirds (2/3) of the time. This position also requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may have exposure to moderate noise levels.
