About the Role

The Vehicle Operator for the Mobile Mammography Unit is responsible for safely driving, operating, and ensuring the operational readiness of the mobile mammography vehicle used for on-site cancer screenings. This role includes conducting daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate vehicle logs, identifying mechanical issues, and submitting timely repair requests. The operator also delivers high-quality customer service to support a positive patient experience and performs all tasks in compliance with University Hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Safely drives and operates the mobile mammography unit for on-site cancer screening services

  • Ensures the vehicle is fully operational and ready for daily use

  • Performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections each day

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date vehicle logs and documentation

  • Identifies mechanical issues promptly and submits repair requests in a timely manner

  • Provides excellent customer service to support a positive and respectful patient experience

  • Adheres to all University Hospital policies and procedures while performing duties

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Must possess a valid NJ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) endorsement

    • Prior experience operating a commercial vehicle is required

    • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, including at least one (1) year operating a vehicle with a capacity of 17 or more passengers

    • Must have fewer than four (4) points on driving record under the NJDMV point system

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals across various department levels

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English required

    • Must maintain a professional demeanor and perform effectively in high-pressure or emergency situations

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

The expected salary range for this position is ($27.49 - $28.85) per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
