About the Role
Under the guidance of the Department of Clinical Research, the Scientific Writer translates complex research findings into clear, accurate, and accessible content. This position plays a key role in communicating scientific advancements to both professional and public audiences through the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts, scientific conference materials, and educational resources. The role requires a solid understanding of scientific methodology, research protocols, and data analysis to ensure accurate and meaningful representation of research outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Works under the direction of the Department of Clinical Research to translate complex scientific data into clear and accessible content
Develops and prepares peer-reviewed manuscripts, scientific abstracts, and presentations for conferences
Creates educational materials that communicate research findings to diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals and the general public
Serves as a key link between scientific discovery and public understanding
Requires strong knowledge of scientific methods, research protocols, and data interpretation
Ensures accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all written scientific communications
Supports the dissemination of clinical research outcomes in alignment with institutional and publication standards
What You’ll Bring
Preferred:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in a scientific discipline required
3–5 years of experience in scientific writing and editing
Familiarity with the peer review and publication process
Strong knowledge of research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to simplify and translate complex scientific concepts for general audiences
Capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Strong research and analytical capabilities
Proficient in reference management software and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel)
Experience with statistical software such as SPSS preferred
Equivalent experience, education, or training may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements
Compensation
The expected salary for this position is XH/99H: $38.00per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
