About the Role
The primary role of the Certified Ambulatory Care Technician is to assist both patients and providers throughout the entire ambulatory visit, from registration to discharge and follow-up. This position is responsible for facilitating efficient patient flow to support physicians in the examination and treatment process. In accordance with University Hospital policies and physician direction, and as permitted by state regulations, the technician may administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. Additionally, the technician supports all front-end administrative tasks and clinical office procedures.

Assists patients and providers throughout the full ambulatory care visit, from registration to discharge and follow-up
Facilitates smooth and efficient patient flow to support physician examinations and treatments
Administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections under physician direction and in compliance with state regulations and hospital policy
Provides support for both front-end administrative tasks and clinical office procedures
Ensures a seamless and patient-centered experience during ambulatory visits
Adheres to University Hospital standards and protocols throughout all responsibilities
What You’ll Bring
Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
May hold licensure in the State of New Jersey under a classification permitted to administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
Demonstrated competence and experience in administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections required
Must successfully complete an annual medication administration review, including classroom instruction, hands-on participation, and a post-test with a score of 80 or higher
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office setting preferred
Computer proficiency required
Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish, Portuguese, or French)
Experience in an ambulatory care or outpatient setting preferred
Knowledge of Managed Care and Health Insurance practices in the State of New Jersey required
What We Offer
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is TT1600: $21.88 - $22.38 - $23.06 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
