Responsibilities

The Clinic Nurse Manager is an experienced clinical leader responsible for managing assigned areas and multiple services within the Cancer Program, supervising assigned patient care personnel during clinic operations with 24-hour responsibility. The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes,
compliance with regulatory, administrative and clinical standards, policies and procedures. The Clinic Nurse Manager is seen as an expert in clinical oncology topics and is proficient in personnel management and directs care to meet the unit demands in an efficient and costeffective manner, as well as assisting with clinic budget management. This position reports to the Executive Director Cancer Center and takes clinical direction from the Program’s Medical Director.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required, including at least two (2) years in oncology nursing.
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration required.
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
  • Certification as a Certified Oncology Nurse (OCN) is desirable and must be obtained within two (2) years of hire.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and maintain maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Previous management experience in an outpatient oncology clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple issues for resolution.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Prior experience with clinical supervision/leadership and participation on a multidisciplinary team preferred.
