About the Role

The Clinic Nurse Manager serves as an experienced clinical leader overseeing designated areas and services within the Cancer Program. This role includes supervision of patient care staff during clinic operations and maintaining 24-hour accountability for assigned units. The Nurse Manager ensures the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of patient care, while maintaining compliance with clinical, regulatory, and administrative standards, policies, and procedures. Recognized as a subject matter expert in oncology nursing, the Clinic Nurse Manager excels in both clinical practice and personnel management. They are responsible for aligning care delivery with patient and clinic needs in a cost-effective and efficient manner, and also contribute to clinic budget planning and oversight. This position reports to the Executive Director of the Cancer Center and receives clinical guidance from the Program’s Medical Director.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do  

  • Provides clinical leadership and oversight for designated areas and services within the Cancer Program

  • Supervises patient care staff during clinic operations and maintains 24-hour accountability for assigned units

  • Ensures safe, effective, and high-quality patient care in compliance with clinical, regulatory, and administrative standards and policies

  • Serves as a recognized expert in oncology nursing, offering advanced clinical knowledge and guidance

  • Manages personnel effectively, supporting staff development and performance

  • Coordinates care delivery to meet patient and operational needs efficiently and cost-effectively

  • Participates in clinic budget planning and contributes to financial oversight

  • Reports to the Executive Director of the Cancer Center

  • Receives clinical direction from the Program’s Medical Director

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required, including at least two (2) years in oncology nursing.
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration required.
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
  • Certification as a Certified Oncology Nurse (OCN) is desirable and must be obtained within two (2) years of hire.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and maintain maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Previous management experience in an outpatient oncology clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple issues for resolution.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Prior experience with clinical supervision/leadership and participation on a multidisciplinary team preferred.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is NS/05S: $107,709 - $134,636 - $161,562 per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
