Overview

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Lead Food Service Worker (Sanitation) position is to coordinate, perform and monitor sanitation and safety functions within the department in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do  

  • Coordinates and monitors sanitary activities to maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with The Department of Health Regulations.
  • Participates in scheduling of subordinates to provide adequate unit staffing.
  • Assists in performance improvement plan development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of operational systems to meet department regulatory agency code standards.
  • Monitors dress code compliance and maintains time and attendance records. Communicates any problems to management.
  • Assists in training personnel; maintains appropriate records.
  • Responsible for weekend coverage as the opening manager.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Two to three (2-3) years progressive work-related experience in a food service setting required.
  • Completion of the 108-hour Dietetic Assistant Program required. National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation for ServSafe Protection Certification is required or must obtain ServSafe Protection Certificate within first 6 to 12 months of employment and maintain throughout employment.
  • The ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with a culturally diverse workforce.
  • Able to anticipate and solve problems effectively and efficiently.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $ 18.04 – $ 19.10 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
