Overview

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Registered Dietitian position is to assess and intervene with Pediatric (birth to 18 years), Adult (19-64 years) and Geriatric (65-95+ years) clients, for nutritional risk and education requirements.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do  

  • Care provided is patient centered.
  • Performs nutrition assessments in the time frame consistent with the N.J. State Health Code and/or policy and procedure for designated subunits, and triages clients into appropriate level of care to determine time frame for re- assessment intervention and intensity of nutritional care provided.
  • Evaluates and monitors client’s progress consistent with policy and procedure and implements appropriate nutritional care collaboratively with primary care physician or designate. Attends and actively participates in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning.
  • Formulates a nutrition intervention plan based on the nutrition diagnosis and its etiology that prioritizes diagnoses based on urgency, impact, and available resources; utilizes evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and other practice guidelines; coordinates care with other health care providers; and considers patients’/clients’ values and expected outcomes.
  • Provides nutrition counseling and education to patients, families and caregivers, and the community using evidence- based nutrition practice guidelines and appropriate instructional methods and too.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition or a related field plus registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligibility to write and pass the registration examination within six (6) months of hire. Masters preferred.
  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team to prioritize patient care. Excellent oral and written communications skills required.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is PS25S $ 70,842 $ 85,343 - $ 101,633, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
