About the Role

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Orthopedic Surgeon, the Physician Assistant Surgical will participate directly in the care of Orthopedic patients including pre-operative evaluations, intraoperative assistance, post-operative care, and follow-up visits in the office. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and to ensure the quality of the care provided.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do  

  • Participates in the evaluation and treatment of Orthopedic patients in outpatient office settings and assists physicians in the performance of the following procedures:
  • Evaluates patients in the outpatient setting and records information from the initial patient workup including physical examination of patients in the Orthopedic Clinic and Outpatient Offices and presents the results to the supervising physician or other members of the Orthopedic team.
  • Performs daily evaluations of Orthopedic Service patients, orders appropriate non-invasive diagnostic studies, actively participates in patient management, and documents these activities in the patient's record. (A licensed physician will countersign all medical record entries and orders within 24 hours.)
  • s actively involved in any Orthopedic research efforts, including patient interviews, literature reviews, data analysis and manuscript preparation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned: v Other functions may be added dependent upon certain situations including committee membership, required education/classes.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Master’s Degree or bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies or a related field. Graduation from a Physician Assistant Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). New Jersey license from the State Board of Medical Examiners - Physician Advisory Committee.

 

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $ 70.00 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
