About the Role

The main function of the Patient Accounts Representative role is to manage cash control duties, including preparing daily deposits, posting payments, and reconciling patient-related funds received by University Hospital.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do  

  • Serve as the primary cash control clerk for University Hospital
  • Prepare daily deposits of patient-related funds
  • Post payments received from patients
  • Reconcile all patient-related cash transactions
  • Ensure accuracy and accountability in cash handling processes

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a hospital or physician’s office billing environment.
  • Must have a solid understanding of various insurance plans and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers is essential.
  • Strong numerical skills and experience with financial transactions and record-keeping are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to maintain professionalism and deliver quality customer service in high-pressure situations.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is TC1850: Probationary Rate: $25.14 – Job Rate: $25.64 – Two Year Rate: $26.41  per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
