About the Role

The Health Educator II role primarily supports the development, coordination, and execution of health education initiatives within the Department. This position plays a key role in raising awareness of individual and community health needs and promoting effective health practices. Responsibilities also include managing health-related projects, conducting research, and contributing to the preparation of annual reports.

 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of health education programs within the Department.
  • Promote awareness of individual and community health needs and encourage healthy practices.
  • Assist in identifying public health priorities and developing strategies to address them.
  • Coordinate and manage health-related projects, including research and program development.
  • Contribute to the creation of annual reports and other documentation related to health initiatives.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field plus 2 years of health education experience
  • OR Master’s degree in Public Health or related field plus 1 year of health education experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Must obtain Health Educator Specialist certification within 2 years of hire
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse groups (e.g., people with disabilities, families, professionals, community leaders, government officials)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Equivalent education, experience, or training may be substituted year-for-year

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

The expected salary range for this position is [$ – $] per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
