Overview

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Special Procedures Technologist (Mammography) is to provide healthcare services to patients requiring mammography imaging. Performs appropriate procedure and related techniques on patients, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures. Responsible for carrying out quality control tests to comply with state and federal requirements. Must be able to perform duties in UH as well as on the Mobile Mammography Van. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.

 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do   

  • Provides healthcare services to patients requiring mammography imaging.
  • Performs appropriate imaging procedures and techniques to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
  • Delivers compassionate and appropriate patient care, recognizing conditions essential for successful procedure completion.
  • Conducts quality control tests in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Must be able to perform duties both at University Hospital (UH) and on the Mobile Mammography Van.
  • Exercises professional judgment in service delivery, maintaining conduct aligned with medical ethics.

Qualifications

 

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Holds NJ State license and ARRT certification with current active registration.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
  • Thoroughly experienced and competent in:
  • All aspects of mammography procedures
  • Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements
  •  Skilled in compiling accurate statistics and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Radiography
  • Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
  • Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
  • Must complete annual fit testing.
  • Maintains valid Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification through the American Heart Association.

Compensation

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly range for this position is TT/2800:$ 40.48 -:  $ 40.98 -:  $ 42.21 per hour. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs.The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
