About the Role

The primary purpose of the Senior Environmental Services Worker position is to perform various

tasks to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and attractive environment at the University Hospital. Serves as a Lead to ensure efficient workflow in assigned area(s), especially in the absence of the Supervisor, by starting the shift with the team, assisting with allocation of resources and equipment, and orienting new staff to cleaning procedures and infection control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Performs proper routine and general cleaning to prevent the spread of infection and keeps areas orderly and attractive.
  • Performs isolation cleaning procedures as instructed to prohibit the spread of infection
  • Performs other cleaning tasks as assigned, including, but not limited to, hard floor care, carpet care, grounds cleaning, snow removal, etc.
  • Works to ensure timely turnaround of beds and rooms.
  • As a senior level employee, contributes to smooth workflow in assigned areas, especially in the absence of the Supervisor, by starting the shift with assigned workers, and assisting with allocation of supplies and resources.
  • As assigned, assists with orientation of new hires to the EVS team, to cleaning protocols, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Performs final check and clean up at end of shift.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required:

  • Two (2) years or more experience as an Environmental Services Worker required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Control System as well as environmental controls.
  • Must be able to work every other weekend and holidays. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are recommended.

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $19.27 - $20.36.
