Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Administrative Fellowship Program is to transition top graduate
students into health care operations management positions through focused mentoring, special projects, and leadership experiences.
During this one‐to‐two‐year program, the Administrative Fellow will work on, and manage, a wide variety of projects throughout
University Hospital. Will serve as project manager and/or provide project support. The Administrative Fellow will meet with University
Hospital Leadership regularly throughout the Fellowship Program. This will allow the Fellow the opportunity to gain further insight and
guidance around professional growth and leadership development from a senior leader at UH. Fellows will gain valuable knowledge, skills,
and abilities to address the complex challenges of today’s health care environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Master’s Degree, attained within one year prior to application to fellowship program, required: such as Masters in Business
Administration (MBA), Masters in Health Administration (MHA), Masters in Health Services Administration (MHSA), Masters in Public
Health (MPH), or related field. Candidates with a master’s degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of
Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) are preferred. Health care industry experience such as an internship, externship, fellowship,
or applicable employment highly desired. Possesses broad knowledge of current and historical perspectives in areas such as: healthcare
business management, administration, clinical practice management, finance, human resources and/or information systems. Record of
leadership and teamwork, and demonstration of excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Candidates may be asked to make a presentation on their keystone project from the Master’s program. This should include the problem
statement, metrics, goals, and methodology used to achieve their objective.
