Overview

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Data Analyst is to collect, maintain, analyze, and report data related to
the Emergency Medical Services department. This includes, but is not limited to budget and expenditures data, computer aided dispatch system (CAD) data, emergency medical record (EMR) data, clinical education data, fleet data, and logistical data. Performs basic statistical
analysis, formulates statistical reports into various formats, and translates data to aid management decisions related to programming and staffing decisions. Utilizes national and regional benchmark data to compare trends and growth.

 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

    • Collects, manages, analyzes, and reports data for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department
    • Oversees multiple data sources, including:
      • Budget and expenditure records
      • Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) data
      • Emergency Medical Records (EMR)
      • Clinical education data
      • Fleet and logistical information
     
    • Conducts basic statistical analyses and converts findings into clear, actionable reports
     
    • Presents data in various formats to support management with operational, programming, and staffing decisions
     
    • Applies national and regional benchmark data to evaluate performance, trends, and departmental growth.

 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of related experience, including data processing, analysis, and presentation
  • MS SQL experience in scripting and administration
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
  • Ability to present data in various forms (e.g., web-based formats, charts)
  • Knowledge of statistics such as the 90th percentile, mean, median, and p-values
  • Experience with Central Square CAD, Flight Vector CAD, Red Alert CAD, ImageTrend, and FirstWatch preferred
  • Experience with Global Information Systems (GIS) preferred
  • Experience in healthcare and Emergency Medical Service environments preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Additional related experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

The expected salary range for this position is $74,989- $107,705 per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
