About the Role
The Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) works with cancer patients and their families to remove barriers to care, provide emotional support and resolve issues related to the cycle of cancer care. The ONN works as a liaison to and in collaboration with the patient, physician, and other healthcare providers to manage the complex needs of cancer patients. She/he serves as an advocate for the patient and works to enhance the patient experience, breaking down barriers so the patient receives timely and compassionate care. The ONN is involved in community outreach and education and serves as an expert in their clinical area of focus. She/he will serve as a tumor board coordinator for their assigned disease focus and provide clinical care as directed for their assigned patient population. Additionally, the ONN is proficient in quality practices and will track navigation metrics and quality indicators for reporting to Cancer Committee and for accreditation purposes. Serve as a leader on committees and projects.

Breast Nurse Navigation certification is strongly preferred. Candidates who do not possess certification at the time of hire are encouraged to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment and may be asked to provide documentation demonstrating progress toward certification through a qualifying training program.

Compensation
In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is UL/05S:$100,903 - $118,223- $141,.288 per year per year. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
