Overview

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant/BLS Instructor is to provide administrative support for the Community Training Center, and to teach BLS courses as needed. Responsible for coordinating various projects as
assigned, including, but not limited to, registration and scheduling processes, marketing the CTC to outside entities and potential students, maintaining files in compliance with American Heart Association guidelines and departmental policies, and collecting payments. Works in conjunction with other coordinators and staff of CTC to ensure quality of BLS courses.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Provide administrative and operational support for the Community Training Center (CTC).
  • Deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) instruction and training courses as required.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee course registration, enrollment, and scheduling activities.
  • Promote CTC programs and services to external organizations and prospective participants.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) standards and departmental requirements.
  • Process and track course fees and payments.
  • Partner with CTC staff and coordinators to ensure effective program operations and a high standard of BLS training.
  • Contribute to the continuous delivery of quality educational programs and customer service.

 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate’s Degree required with two (2) years of experience providing administrative support in an office environment.
  • Additional related experience may be substituted for the Associate’s Degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficiency in word processing required; experience with Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
  • BLS Instructor certification required with a minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching BLS courses.
  • New Jersey EMT or MICP certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends when BLS courses are offered.

Compensationhourly

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is Probationary Rate$29.09–Two (2) Year Rate $30.48. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs.
