About the Role

The primary purpose of the Neurophysiology Technologist I position is to conduct Electroencephalogram (EEG), Video EEG Monitoring, Ambulatory EEG Monitoring. Learns to perform all other Neurophysiology tests (TCD, NCS and Intra-Operative Monitoring). Possesses the ability, education, training, and/or expertise required of a Neurophysiology Technologist to meet the needs of patients of all ages (newborn to maturity).

  • Performs all duties of a Neurophysiology Technologist.
  • Records standard EEG; awake and asleep.
  • Performs Video EEG Monitoring.
  • Performs Data Processing of EEG and Video EEG Monitoring.
  • Performs Nerve Conduction Velocity Studies, assists in performing Electromyography (EMG's) procedures.
  • Performs Transcranial Doppler (TCD) testing.
  • Adheres to Departmental procedures for completion of the technical report.
  • Promotes self-growth and development.
  • Understands and adheres to University Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in University Hospital’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and University Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED certification required.
  • Completion of a Neurodiagnostic program accredited by The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic, and Evoked Potential Technologists, INC.
  • (ABRET) is preferred, certificates of completion in V-EEG, EEG, PSG will be considered or a minimum of one (1) year Neurodiagnostic clinical EEG experience.
  • Weekend or overtime work may be required.
  • Possesses the ability, education, training, and experience required to meet the needs of all ages (newborn to maturity).
  • Annual Respirator Fit Testing required.

Compensation

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is TT1900:  Probationary Rate:  $28.99 - Job Rate:  $29.49- Two (2) Year Rate:  $30.38 per hour. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
