Supervisor, Central Service

The primary purpose of the Supervisor Central Service position is to assume oversight and responsibility for the daily activities of the department as directed. Responsibilities include supervision of all processing activities, including decontamination, high level disinfection, packaging and sterilization. Supervises staff to ensure all stated policies are followed and all work assignments are completed. May act as a preceptor for new orientees. Ensures completion of special projects, as assigned. Maintains adequate supply levels sufficient to meet departmental needs. Reviews accuracy of statistical information, sterilization logs, equipment logs, and procedure tray inventory.

Certification as a Central Service Technician is required for this position. Management certification by ASHCSP preferred. Two (2) or more years of experience in OR setting or CSPD required. Two (2) or more years of experience in performing Central Sterile supervisory/leadership duties is preferred. Must be able to differentiate colors. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
