The primary purpose of the Orthopaedic Cast Technician position is to perform and assist in all technical procedures related to the orthopaedic specialty with patients from infant through geriatrics such as application and removal of all body and extremity casts, splints, and traction in hospital based Orthopaedic Clinics. Services are provided under the direction of a Physician Assistant, APN and/or a Physician. Also, to assist with clinic operations including the ordering and maintaining of supplies and equipment and compiling statistics on usage. Assignments may include providing coverage to other Ambulatory Care clinics, in-house units, emergency room and operating room.
